SpringPharm joins the fight against COVID-19

SpringPharm joins the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

SpringPharm is excited to announce that we are now commissioned to administer the COVID-19 Oxford AstraZeneca Vaccine to eligible cohorts.

Already over 3000 vaccines have been administered since January and we continue to offer as many appointments as possible to support the vaccination programme in the local community. We have a minimum capacity to deliver 1000 vaccines per week, although this is dependent on the number of vaccines allocated to us for that week.

A range of staff has come together to assist us in administering the vaccine at our Tamworth site, including colleagues from the aesthetics industry, nurses from NHS backgrounds and pharmacists.  In addition, we are currently training pharmacy technicians to be able to administer the vaccines.

Furthermore, volunteers have given up their valuable time to support the administration of the process and to be stewards to guide patients entering the site.

We have had some excellent feedback from patients who have received their vaccination with us.  One patient said, ‘We had our Oxford AZ vaccines on Saturday. It was incredibly easy, very well organised and quick. Thank you to all the team there.’

SpringPharm is incredibly proud to be part of the national effort to vaccinate the population against COVID-19.  We would like to thank all staff and volunteers who are supporting us as a vaccination centre and we look forward to continuing to welcome patients eligible for their vaccinations.’ Lee Ison, Director of SpringPharm and Superintendent Pharmacist.
