SpringPharm Expands COVID-19 Vaccination Services

SpringPharm has been offering regular COVID-19 Astra-Zeneca vaccination clinics to the local community since February, making it the longest-running vaccination clinic in Tamworth.  It has certainly become a popular vaccination site to use in the town, with clinics running several times a week.

In addition to Astra-Zeneca, SpringPharm has expanded its services now, offering Pfizer vaccines since 29th May.  Patients are also able to attend walk-in clinics without appointments, making it even easier and more convenient to access vaccinations.

Patient care and safety is at the heart of this service.  The team has ensured additional space for the 15-minute post-vaccination observation area, as well as increasing the number of our staff on site to observe patients following their vaccinations.

“We have ensured that patients have easy access to the site and that the process is as efficient as possible with minimal waiting times.  Our multidisciplinary team working on site are friendly and welcoming, with lots of experience.”

(Lee Ison, Director of SpringPharm)

We are also proud to report that our service has been recognised by the Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire, Mr Ian Dudson.  He wrote to thank us for our contribution to the vaccination programme.

Patients are clearly pleased with the service, with most giving it the highest rating on feedback questionnaires.  Alex Parsons commented, “Everything was explained well and the whole process was easy”.  Emily Webster commented that the nurse vaccinating made her “feel at ease” and Stefanie Gill praised the “clear instructions on arrival”, “great service” and “friendly nurse”.

In line with current NHS guidelines, SpringPharm are now offering vaccinations to patients over the age of 18 and, in the future, we are looking to support patients aged 16-18, as the service develops.

And it doesn’t look like things will be slowing down any time soon…We have applied to support Phase 3 of the vaccination programme recently, which would enable us to offer the booster vaccines from September.
